ABOUT

LCI Engineering Ltd was started by Paul Lyons in 2001 as a light engineering company specialising in entrance gates and wrought iron stairs. Over the years the company has developed and in October 2013 the trading name Bó Steel was launched to reflect the company's growing focus in handling and winter housing systems for Cattle and Sheep. Much of the work now at Bó Steel is 'made to measure' handling gates, feeding and winter housing systems. Entrance gates, especially those designs produced by the Blacksmiths of old, are still made with the same passion as always.

Bó Steel is owned and operated by Paul Lyons. Paul graduated from Dublin City University as a Mechanical Engineer. After a brief time in industry, he spent a number of years with the Defence Forces as an Ordnance Mechanical Engineer. He left to continue to develop his business where he now designs new products for the agricultural sector.

The company has all manner of projects under its belt to date; including the design of a forklift proof barrier for warehousing, manufacturing farm and industrial buildings and all manner of gates. The list of gate in particular is long; revolving gates, up and over gates, calving gates, calf creep gates, gates for pigs, gates with plastic.....it's a long list. Many have commented on Paul and his gates but nobody has yet named this obsession.
